Black Tartarian Cherry Tree

Alternative Views:

Black Tartarian cherry trees, Prunus avium 'Black Tartarian', are sweet cherries that are good pollinators for the Bing cherry tree, and the cherries are absolutely blackish in color and agreeably sweet and nutritious.  The Black Tartarian cherry tree crop begins to appear on grocery shelves in June.  These cherries are excellent to grow in home orchards for ripe, fresh eating when picked directly off the trees.  These cherries are large and grow in multiple clusters, and with light refrigeration these cherries keep well on grocery shelves.  The Black Tartarian cherry tree is cold hardy and requires considerable chill hours to produce maximum yields.

First Time purchase February 13, 2017

The tree came with one main growth that is pruned at the top to be fit to measure as purchased.  I'll find out how great it will look in a few years as it matures.  Enough health and root ball to keep it going into its new place to grow I suppose.

Black Tartarian Cherry Tree April 20, 2016

I was amazed at how quickly we received the trees we ordered.  I really liked that you helped preserve them with what like some type of silica gel.  Pruning them for us prior to shipment is also a big plus.  We put them in the ground the evening they arrived and the cherry trees had little yellow leaves all over them.  I'm hoping they green up fast.  We planted them per our instructions and watered them really well and I'll be watering them twice a day for the first couple of weeks and then daily until we get some rain or it gets really dry.  I will update their progress to you  and on my farm blog as the year goes on.  I will also be naming you in my blog for my readers to hopefully become customers as well!!
