Dallas Crape Myrtle Tree

Alternative Views:

The Dallas red Crape Myrtle, Lagerstroemia x 'Dallas', trees are especially tough to grow in the dry areas of Texas and New Mexico, and also are cleared to survive the cold weather in zones 7 through 9.  The Dallas Crape Myrtles begin flowering in June, and the abundant blooming continues into the fall.  The chocolate under-bark is revealed in the summer as the old bark peels off, and the beautiful red-orange leaf color is spectacular in the fall.
