Kadota Fig Tree
Kadota Fig Tree

Alternative Views:

Kadota fig tree, Ficus carica, 'Kadota' fig trees grow well in USDA Climate zones of 8, 9 and 10, and the ripe figs are white-yellow colored and are medium in fruit size.  The flavor of the Kadota fig is exceptionally sweet, and that characteristic makes it excellent for drying for enjoying and eating later during the winter.  The leaves of the Kadota fig trees are very large, sometimes growing as large as dinner plates, and the deep shade effect when combined with the aggressive fleshy roots growing underneath the tree, makes it virtually impossible for plants that would otherwise grow competitively underneath the tree.
