Weeping Willow Tree

Alternative Views:

The Weeping Willow trees, Salix babylonica, are extremely cold hardy and can be grown successfully in all areas of the United States.  The buds become very active in the early spring, being one of the first trees to leaf out.  The arching branches grow fast, up to 6 feet in one year, and the linear green leaves are thickly placed on slender twigs.  This native American tree has an unusual fleshy, root system that grows rapidly in all directions and often will undermine or clog up pipes and plumbing, if the Weeping Willow trees are planted nearby.  Because the roots of the Weeping Willow trees are fleshy, the dormant trees should be planted during the fall, since the roots grow for 9 months of the year.

Weeping Willow March 9, 2015
Reviewer: Jon Barnes from Gilbert, AZ United States
Plant was well packaged, roots were kept moist. Plant began to have leaves within the first week. I ordered the 9-10 foot weeping willow after their courtesy pruning it came to me at 5 foot 7 inches. I would definitely use them again.
