Baldwin Pear Tree

Alternative Views:

The Baldwin pear tree, Pyrus communis x Pyrus pyrifolia 'Baldwin,' is one of the best Eastern US pear trees to grow with an absolute resistance to the fire blight, and this fast growing pear tree can begin bearing pears in 2 years, when a 6 foot tree is planted.  The fruits are pear-shaped, yellow when ripe and can develop a faint pink blush at the bottom of the neck.  The yellow flesh is soft, smooth and  a tasteful delight to eat and experience. Baldwin pear trees mature in August, and the flowering pear tree blossoms appear in March.
