Bing Cherry Tree

Alternative Views:

Bing cherry trees, Prunus avium 'Bing',  are dark red in color when completely ripe, so that is easy to determine when they are ripe for picking that takes place, when the color change from bright red to dark red and the firm red skin begins to soften to the touch.  The Bing cherries are very sweet, firm and distinctly flavored with depths of taste that tingle the taste buds.  The sweet flavor of the Bing cherries is definable, even when eaten and sampled blindfolded.  Since Bing cherry trees are sweet cherries, the trees require being pollinated by another sweet cherry tree, and rate as the most important commercial cherry that when ripe is supplied to grocery stores and  fruit markets.
