Hican Pecan Tree
Hican Pecan Tree

Alternative Views:

The Hican pecan hybrid is considered to be a hybrid cross between the seedling pecan tree and the shagbark hickory, and the kernels of the Hican are delicious, large and oily.  The Hican shows considerable tolerance to cold weather that probably results from the cold hardiness of the hickory parentage.  The Hican nut has a distinctive shape with sharp ridges that are not common in pecan tree nuts.  The Hican nuts begin to ripen in late September.
