The Hood pear tree, Pyrus communis x Pyrus pyrifolia 'Hood', is a Southern acclimatized pear that flowers in zone 8 and 9 in March and the pears ripen in August.  The Hood pear tree requires only 100 hours of chilling to form a crop.  The skin is greenish-yellow when ripe, and the flavor is delicious and the smooth dripping texture that  is appetizing and sweet to the taste.

Well packaged and secured in the shipping box. Roots were well wrapped and included a bit of gel to keep them moist. I wish that we did not need to cut off so much of the roots but they have to fit into the box. I paid double for this tree as a 7-8 foot tree but it was cut to the same height as the 6-7 ' trees. They are in the ground already and I hope they do well come spring.
