Jack's Black Fig Tree

Alternative Views:

Jacks Black fig tree, Ficus carica, 'Black Jack' fig is also known as the Black Jack fig and is suitable for growing  in zones 8,9 and 10, being more cold hardy that the Black Mission fig tree.  The ripening black figs stretch out drooping downwards from the connecting stem (peduncle) to the attachment on the branches, giving the ripe black figs a squeezed, tapered appearance.  The pulp of the Jacks Black fig is sharply sweet and chewy with large seed that are crunchy and fragile.
