Alternative Views:

The Japanese Kwanzan flowering Cherry, Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan', tree produces fluffy clusters of double pink flowers that completely encircle the branches and twigs in the spring thaw.  The Kwanzan Cherry tree is very cold hardy, growing successfully in zones 5 through 9,  up to 25 feet tall in Washington, DC., where the National Cherry Tree Festival is held every spring, and this tree grows into a vase shape.  This Yoshino, Japanese flowering cherry tree produces no fruit at all, and in the fall the leaves turn into a bright yellow-orange.
