Merlot Grape Vine

Alternative Views:

Merlot Grape Vine, Vitis vinifera 'Merlot,'  is one of the most popular, early ripening wine grape vines to plant in commercial vineyards.  The color of the Merlot grapes is dark blue and each grape is loaded with fructose sugar that ferments into a delicious, intoxicating red wine with that softness and taste of a low tannin concentration.  The dark purple wine is delicately enriched with the freshness of overripe purple plums and blackberry tones, and on some soils the wine has hints of red raspberry, strawberry and even a suggestion of dark chocolate.

merlot vine review March 24, 2017
Reviewer: Stanley Phillips from Dandridge, TN United States
The merlot vines were very healthy. The root structure in proportion to the vine was very good. Packaging was good. The vines were moist, wrapped good for shipping, and  there were a few extra plants in the bundle.

Some healthy roots, some so so March 24, 2015

I order 8 merlot 3yr vines.  5 of the 8 had a very strong root system established.  Three had only about 3 or 4 decent roots.  We will see if those 3 plants survive.
