The Japanese Okame Flowering Cherry, Prunus x incamp 'Okame', tree is known for its single, clear-pink flowers that cover the twigs completely along with the branches in the spring.  The Okame flowering cherry trees are cold hardy enough to grow exceptionally well in USDA climate zones of 6 through 9, and are especially suited for growing in the South, where the chilling requirements are low.  The Japanese Okame cherry tree can flower some years as early as February in Florida..  These cherry trees can grow up to 20 feet tall in an upright form, and early during the fall the leaves turn yellow.
