Pineapple Pear Tree
Pineapple Pear Tree

Alternative Views:

The Pineapple pear tree, Pyrus communis x Pyrus pyrifolia 'Pineapple'  This pear tree is flavored with a slight suggestion of the flavor of pineapple fruit, but it is quite hard and is best used as a cooking pear because of its extra firm texture and presence of occasional grit cells.  The Pineapple pear tree is heavy bearing at an advanced age, ripening the fruit in October, and the pears are long lasting in the cool weather.

Well packaged and secured in the shipping box. Roots were well wrapped and included a bit of gel to keep them moist. I wish that we did not need to cut off so much of the roots but they have to fit into the box. They are in the ground already and I hope they do well come spring.
