Red Dogwood Tree

Alternative Views:

Red Dogwood Tree, Cornus florida var. rubra 'Cherokee Chief', is covered with bright red flowers  in the early spring.  The flowers are highly colored when the Red dogwood trees are grown in Zones 5 through 8a, but are not as colorful in the deep Southern US., because not as many buds are initiated in the fall for the lack of enough cold temperatures.
