Southern Magnolia Tree

Alternative Views:

Evergreen Southern Magnolia, Magnolia grandiflora, is a native evergreen flowering tree that grows extensively in the South, where it is planted for its evergreen shade that is so heavy that few other plants can grow beneath the light deficit of this tree.  The fragrant white flowers begin to appear in late May and can continue sporadically flowering into the fall with individual Magnolia blooms growing as large as a dinner plate, but usually lasting not more than one day.  The flowers then grow into a cone shape receptacle that is filled with numerous, brilliant-red seeds that are very ornamental with their background colored with deep green, waxy reflective leaves.

Dead Tree June 26, 2017
Reviewer: Nichole Davis from Park Hills, MO United States
I purchased a 6-7 ft Southern Magnolia Tree in May 2017. Once the tree arrived I was so disappointed. I was expecting a tree with leaves. The website gave no indication I was paying a hundred dollars for a stick. I can kick myself in the butt for not sending this tree back right after I recieved it. I followed the instruction and planted the tree the next day. After a few weeks went by I question if the tree was alive. After doing some research on the internet I discovered if you scratch the bark of the tree and it is brown the tree is dead. Guess what???? The tree was brown and dead. I believe the tree was dead when it was sent to me. When I called the company to inquire about a refund the guy that answered the phone was rude and told me it was a heat advisory and refunds want be given back till Oct. He hung the phone up on me when I told him I was going to report him. Please don't buy from this company. The company use to be called TY TY and changed the name.
