Southern Magnolia Tree

Alternative Views:

Evergreen Southern Magnolia, Magnolia grandiflora, is a native evergreen flowering tree that grows extensively in the South, where it is planted for its evergreen shade that is so heavy that few other plants can grow beneath the light deficit of this tree.  The fragrant white flowers begin to appear in late May and can continue sporadically flowering into the fall with individual Magnolia blooms growing as large as a dinner plate, but usually lasting not more than one day.  The flowers then grow into a cone shape receptacle that is filled with numerous, brilliant-red seeds that are very ornamental with their background colored with deep green, waxy reflective leaves.

Reviewer: John Poalillo from Hardeeville, SC United States
My order came quickly, however, I did expect my tree to be a little larger and maybe a little fuller. It really is just a stick with a few leaves it does appear to be healthy so we shall see!
